Citrus Garden Living Centerpiece
The Citrus Garden Living Centerpiece is a young dwarf mandarin tree underplanted with mondo grasses in a dark stone like bowl, with lava rocks, planted by hand in Apex, NC. A second version includes pansies or petunias, depending on the season.
A slender mandarin rises from the center on a fine, branching trunk, its glossy leaves catching the light. Soft, fine-bladed grasses fill the bowl around its base, with smooth stones set among them like a small landscape. Generous in scale and quietly structural, it suits a dining table, an entry, or a bright corner.
Plants: Dwarf mandarin (Citrus reticulata), mondo grasses, optional: pansies or petunias
Vessel: dark stone like vase
Finish: Smooth lava rocks
Included: Plants, bowl, and stones. Ready to display.
Light: Full sun or your brightest window. Let the top of the soil dry slightly between waterings.
Made: Planted by hand in Apex, NC.
Delivery: $15 flat-rate local delivery across the Triangle, or pickup at the studio in Apex.
Where do you deliver? Apex, Cary, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, and the surrounding Triangle, for a flat $15.
How do I care for it? Citrus wants as much light as you can give it. A south-facing window is best, with water when the top of the soil feels dry. This dwarf mandarin is cold hardy, however, I’d recommend bringing it in on the days getting into 20 degrees. I’d also recommend feeding it with a citrus fertilizer during spring and summer.
Each plant grows in its own shape, so yours may differ slightly from the photos.
