Sculpted by the sea, styled by hand.
Each of these vases begins as a stone — collected, not carved, from riverbanks and beaches along the Maine coast, then hand-drilled to hold water and stems. No two are alike. The color, the weight, the quiet variation in texture from one stone to the next is the whole point: this is a vessel that comes from nature rather than being shaped to look like it did.
We love this piece for its restraint. It doesn't compete with the bloom — it grounds it. A single ranunculus or a loose gathering of anemone and pittosporum reads as more intentional, more considered, sitting in stone than it ever would in glass. This is minimalist, ikebana-adjacent styling at its most elemental: one stem, one stone, nothing extra.
Each vase is watertight and ready to use straight from the box — no liner needed.
Available in three sizes:
Little — 2.5"–3.5"H, 5/8" opening — $35
Medium — 3"–4"H, 3/4" opening — $55
Large — 5"–7"H, 1-1/4" opening — $65
Note: Because each stone is one-of-one, the exact color and markings of your vase will vary. That variation is the beauty of it — not a flaw.
Pickup only — this item is not available for shipping.
Material: Hand-collected natural granite and beach stone
Finish: Sealed for watertight use
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth; hand wash only
Fulfillment: In-studio pickup only, Apex NC
This is one of our favorite vessels for solitary, sculptural stems — we reach for it constantly for single-bloom moments and low, grounded arrangements where the stone itself does half the design work.
